How much does a Bar Mitzvah montage cost?
Montage pricing at Legacy Film Creation starts at $550 for the Classic Montage — a streamlined 5–6 minute edit built from photos and clips you have already organized. The Essential Milestone Film is $750 and adds the signature Cinematic Trailer Intro, enhanced cinematic transitions, and professional color grading. The Signature Cinematic Film is $1,500 for 8–14 minutes of finished film, including a custom cinematic opening and closing. The Cinematic Memoir is commissioned from $5,000. For comparison, professionally produced montages in the Chicago area typically run from about $300 for template-based edits to $2,000+ for fully custom cinematic films.
How long does the whole process take?
Essential Milestone Films are delivered 2–3 weeks after you submit your photos and videos. Signature Cinematic Films take 3–4 weeks. The Cinematic Memoir, which includes a directed family interview, archival restoration, and multi-chapter production, runs 6–10 weeks. Rush Delivery is available as an add-on for the Essential and Signature tiers.
What is The Cinematic Memoir, exactly?
A cinematic film about one person — most often a parent or grandparent — built around a directed family interview, archival photo restoration, and multi-generational footage. Designed to capture someone's story in their own voice while they're still here. We're currently accepting commissions for our 2026 Founding Series at an inaugural rate, limited to three families. What do I need to provide?
Photos, video clips, and a sense of who this person is. Classic Montage requires client-organized media. For the Legacy Suite, we help you gather and organize your materials through a guided intake so nothing important gets missed.
Do you film the event yourselves?
Legacy Film Creation is a post-production studio led by an editorial director. We don't operate an in-house camera crew, but for The Cinematic Memoir we can either guide your family through a high-quality home or remote interview capture, or partner with a Chicago-area shooter to handle a directed on-location shoot. Both paths are available.
